A grassroots marketing campaign organization for the film has been founded which organizes and coordinates public showings of the film, and provides information to LEARN MORE. Of note is also that the IDA, International Documentary Association, has accepted Robert Manciero into their Financial Sponsorship Program. What this means is that anyone can support Prescription: Suicide? by making a tax deductible donation to the IDA earmarking it for this film. Prescription: Suicide? is an unprecedented feature documentary built around intimately-told personal stories of six American families, their hopes and experiences with anti-depressant drugs prescribed to their children. As the film unfolds, we meet a range of individuals - some shy, some outspoken. Many have experienced tragedies and their pain is undeniable, yet with strength, humor and resilience, they love, care, struggle and speak for those who are no longer with us.

The families

Reluctant at first but wanting to share their personal tragedies so that others could hopefully be spared similar experiences, these six families courageously put aside their personal considerations and allow the audience to take an intimate look at the personal impact of anti-depressant drugs on their children.

Ultimately they realized that they were given false and insufficient information along with improper diagnoses that turned their worlds upside down and changed their lives forever. Only through their personal perseverance were they able to find out what really happened to their children, uncover the information that was withheld and begin rebuilding faith in their own lives.

Vividly shot with real families across the United States, it is yet a project with global implications that strikes at the very meaning of medical traditions in our modern society.

Prescription: Suicide? takes the American public, for the first time, into the actual lives of those who have experienced first hand the use of anti-depressants with their children, bringing the audience to the forefront of this currently unfolding live public debate.
